Began racing winged Sprint cars in 2000. Kraig was the 2004 World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year. Won the 2005 Knoxville Nationals making him and father Steve, the only father-son duo to have won the prestigious event. In 2005 debuted and won the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) race at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. Made 18 starts in 2006 with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Made 13 starts in 2007 with the Truck Series and 2 ARCA starts. Won that year's All Star Circuit of Champions Fall Classic at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
Has 17 career WoO Sprint car victories, earning him a spot inside the top-21 of the WoO all-time win list. 

In 2016 Kraig and the Steve Kinser Racing team completed in the All Star Circuit of Champions series, receiving Rookie of the Year.​

  • Returned back the family owned #11k sprint car in 2010, teaming with brother-in-law, Mike Kuemper, making them the youngest driver/crew chief combination out competing with the World of Outlaws series

  • The duo has won 5 World of Outlaws A-Feature events to date
